Prasat Ban Phluang
Prasat Ban Phluang is located at Ban Phluang, Ban Phluang Sub-district, Prasat District, Surin Province. It is a small religious place facing east, created according to the Baphuon art style, and made of white sandstone on a laterite base. It is surrounded by a U-shaped ditch.
The Castle has a squared plan with dimensions of 4 x 4 meters, and laterite base has a rectangular plan with dimensions of about 8 x 23 meters. It is assumed that with this large laterite base, therefore, there is a possibility that there is an intention to build 3 castles on the same base. But, there could be some kind of major events such as wars, epidemics and droughts. As a result, the construction of the castle was halted accordingly.
The castle had only one entrance; on the other side is a fake door. The lintel on the east and south side engraved the image of Indra on the Erawan elephant. The lintel on the north side is engraved with an image of Lord Shiva defeating Naga Galiya. The western lintel has not c...
