  • Wat Phrathat Lampang Luang
    In 1732 (B.E. 2275), there was an unrest situation in Lampang because there was no governor. Myanmar, a powerful kingdom during that period, dominated the entire of Lanna Kingdom: Chiang Mai and Lamphun, and appointed the governor who was under the King of Myanmar’s domination. Mahayos, the governor of Lamphun occupied Lampang and settled a camp in Wat Phrathat Lampang Luang. Nan Thipchang, who was a villager in Baan Pongkrok (currently in A. Hang Chat) and a hero of Lampang people, assembled the force to fight against Mahayos by sneaking in the temple, shot him, and conquered Lamphun army. Some gunshots remain on the brass fence of the Phrathat. Later, Nan Thipchang was appointed as Phraya Sulawaluechaisongkram, the governor of Lampang. He was the ancestor of Na Lampang, Chuerjedton, Na Chiang Mai, Na Lamphun, and Na Nan.

  • Wat Phra That Hariphunchai Woramahawihan
    Wat Phra That Hariphunchai Woramahawihan was originally the palace of King Athitayaraj, the 33th ruler of Nakhon Hariphunchai, after Queen Chama Thewi, the first ruler of the Haripunchai. The wall of King Athitayarat's palace can be divided into two layers, the outer layer and the inner layer. Later, King Athitayarat had dedicated his palace as a Sangkharam to the Buddhist way, the outer wall was demolished and established of two lions in the east arch, large lions adorned with a standing altar with its mouth open, following the ancient belief in the north, which admire to build lion guarding the temple. Wat Phra That Hariphunchai is two walls according to the appearance of the former palace of King Athitayarat, which is around the outer temple area on the first floor and built a wall as a pavilion around Phra That Haripunchai as another inner wall.

Before going upstairs to pay respect to the stupa, stop by to pay respect to Khruba Sriwichai Monument, the Saint of Lanna, which is situated at the foot of Doi Suthep for your propitiousness.     "Wat Phra Borommathat is located in Village No.3, Ko Ta Phao Subdistrict, Ban Tak District, Tak Province. The tourists can go ahead to Asia Road No.1 at kilometer 442, this road goes to Lam Phang, about 18 kilometers from the down town of Tak Province till the intersection to Ban Tak district, and keep driving for 1.5-2 kilometers, then turn left to cross the river. After that, there will be a market, you have to keep right at the small T-junction near the market, and then keep driving by following the guide post, it is not more than 10 kilometers. You will arrive at the temple, which is on your left. According to history, Wat Phra Borommathat is on the west bank of the Ping River. Originally, this temple was the old Tak Town before relocating the town to Rahaeng sub district, which is the Tak of today. It is about 30 kilometers away in the south, and it has a long history, since Phra Nang Chammathewi was sailing to Meuang Lamphun and stopped at this area to relax. Her Majesty found ou...
