The opposite side is Ban Kaeng Kabao, Mueang Chaiburi, Lao People's Democratic Republic, with the Mekong River as a barrier.     Phu Pha Thoep National Park is the 59th national park in Thailand, with an area of 48.5 square kilometers covering Mueang Mukdahan District and Don Tan District. It is a sandstone mountain consisting of several undulating large and small mountains, it is at the tip of the Phu Phan Mountain Range. These mountain ranges are approximately 4 kilometers from the Mekong's shores. Within the park, Phu Pha Thoep consists of Phu Mak Yang, Phu Mano, Phu Prong, Phu Rang, Phu Chom Nang, Phu Mak Mee, Phu Pha Thoep, Phu Nang Hong, Phu Tham Phra, Phu Lak Se. In addition, there are around 300 shops for costumes and accessories. It is the largest night market in Mukdahan. The market is from the intersection of Wiwitsurakan Road(Police Fort Intersection) to the Meteorological Office Intersection and behind Mukdahan Hospital.

It was officially opened on December 20, 2006. The bridge style is a 2-lane concrete bridge, the surface is 8 meters wide, and the shoulders on each side are 1.5 meters in length. The total bridge is 2,702 meters long. This Friendship Bridge is part of the development of transport routes. It connects from the east, Danang City (Vietnam), across the Mekong River at Savannakhet Province to Mukdahan and the west at the Thai-Myanmar border at Mae Sot District and Myawaddy and to the end Mawlamyine city of Myanmar.     Wat Manophirom is at Ban Chanod, Chanot Subdistrict, Wan Yai, Mukdahan. The Department of Arts states that this temple was built on Tuesday, the third of the 6th lunar month, horse year as Chinese zodiac, corresponding to 1787. It was built by Thao Kham Sing and his relatives and family who migrated from Laos while establishing Ban Chanot. Formerly, the temple's name was the same as the name of the village and the stream flowing into the Mekong River in the east. Later, they changed its name to Wat Manophirom. The important thing within the temple is Sim(Isan main hall), registered as an ancient site in 1982, and there was a renovation in 2000. Inside, there is a Buddha image of a Naga in the subduing Mara posture. The building style is of Vientiane Lao style mixed with Vietnamese art.
