Lampatao Dam is an earth dam embanking Lampatao stream that includes 2 places, the upper dam and the lower dam. The water capacity of the upper dam is 44 million cubic meters and the lower dam is 14 million cubic meters. This dam is used to generate the electricity for Kaeng Khro district and Khon Sawan district. Moreover, it is a reservoir for the farmlands in Kaeng Khro district and Muaeng Chaiyaphum district. It also distributes water to the Tat Ton Waterfall area and the water supply of Provincial Waterworks Authority in Chaiyaphum. The upper dam is a popular attraction for both local and nearby provincial people because there are a large Lampatao creek, beautiful scenery, freshwater beach that is worth visiting especially in the evening, and freshwater fish that can be cooked into a famous delicious dish that is fish cake.
