Wat Tham Pha Ya is peaceful and shady and inside Tham Pha Ya there is a colony of millions of insect-eating bats. The bat colony is active in the evening in long swarms that last for almost an hour. Getting There: Take route number 2138, Loei-Na Duang route, about 8 kilometers from Mueang District, turn left, turn left onto route 2249, go 9 kilometers and turn right at Ban Pia, enter the ARD for another 11 kilometers, you will reach Wat Tham Phaya.
