Jackfruit tree has a round canopy with the hight of approximately 30 meters .The bark is reddish brown to dark gray. Young branches have scars of the auricles around the branches and covered with brown hair. Their leaves are monocots with 10-13 cm wide and 19-25 cm long, pointed or rounded at the tips and smooth margins. Except for young saplings with deeply concave margins, the surface of the leave is covered with hairs on both sides, 6-11 pairs of leaf veins and petiole is 1.7-2 cm long. They have small spherical shape flowers which is tightly packed in inflorescences. Male inflorescences are cylindrical, obovate, and the length up to 3 cm long. Female inflorescences has a 10-15 cm diameter size. The fruit is a multiple fruit, relatively spherical, 10-15 cm in diameter with long and pointed spines around the granules with a yellow membrane. With the beautiful wood pattern of “Pan Jackfruit” or “Wild Jackfruit”, it has been used to make the floor in the house or the building. The Department of Cultural Promotion Ministry of Culture has given the jackfruit tree or the wild jackfruit tree of Kamala Subdistrict. of Phuket Province to be the tree of Siam: treasures of the land under the Royal Benevolence of His Majesty the King" on February 13th , 2018.
