Wat Dong Sa Kaeo is located in Phai Lom Sub District, Laplae District, Uttaradit Province. At present, it is a temple that commemorates the Buddhist Lent of Phai Lom Sub-District Priests. Under the Maha Nikaya Sangha, Wat Dong Sa Kaeo is currently known to the people of Uttaradit and nearby provinces. It is popular with performing the ceremony under the golden teak ubosot of the temple. This temple used to be the place where the Buddha statue was enshrined. It was Luang Phor U-Thong (Golden), an important ancient golden Buddha statue of Uttaradit Province stolen in 1977 (currently not returned).
