Wat Thai Ko Yai has the largest pagoda in Pathum Thani. At the base of the temple, there are four small pagodas that is the same model of the main one. The top is a tiered made of brass. The majesty of the pagoda and the temple itself attracts lots of tourists to come and pay homage to the pagoda at this temple. Wat Thai Ko Yai is a Raman temple, formerly known as Wat Viang Cham, the Raman language which means crocodile palace, the Ramans from the city of Ye and Motama, evacuated to the land of King Narai the Great of Ayutthaya, as shown in the annals of 1663. King Narai the Great allowed the Raman family to set up a house in Sam Khok- at the border of Ayutthaya. After that, the Ramans gathered in the village called Viang Cham and Wat Wiang Cham were built as a center of Buddhism in the village, and they also built a Shwedagon Pagoda on the banks of the Chao Phraya River to worship. Subsequently, in the year 1939 the temple was renamed as Wat Thai Ko Yai. The temple also has a pulpit, Rattanakosin arts. Besides, there is a buddha image in the attitude of meditation and the paintings about Buddha's history inside the chapel. The temple was also a residence during King Chulalongkorn's unofficial visit.
