  • Ban Kha Naen Community Based Tourism
    "Inheriting Culture, Norabic Activity, Learning Tha Lang Local Way of Life" Baan Kha Naen is located in Moo 2, Thep Kasattri Subdistrict, Tha Lang District, Phuket Province covering 5 Sq. kilometers. Some areas connect with Khao Phra Thaew National Park. This is the old village since Ayutthaya period according to the evidences: the three ancient stupas, one abandoned temple, and the historical story of ThaoThep Kasattri-Thao Sri Sunthon when they fought against Myanmar to save Tha Lang. Previously, Ban Ka Nane’s territory covered from Moo 1 Ban Bo Kruad to Khao Phra Thaew Range. Later, the area was divided into two parts: Moo 2 Ban Kha Nane and Moo 11 Ban Kuan.

Formerly, this subdistrict was named Kamara until B.E.2486 some people pointed out that Kamara had no meaning so that the name was changed to Kamala, the combination between Thai and Indian language which means lotus.

Later, Khun Yin Chan and Khun Ying Muk gathered people to fight with Myanmar until their supplies run out and finally retreated. Thus, this place was called “Pa Khlok” ever since.

During King Rama VII(King Prajadhipok), He visited Laem Lah, Phuket and built the pavilion on the coast, called “Tha” to welcome him; the pavilion had the royal umbrella, the symbol of King on top. Then, it became Tha Chat Chai. Later, people called it Tha Chat Chai rather than Laem Lah. Therefore, its official name is “Baan Tha Chat Chai” Moo 4, Mai Khao Sub-district, Tha Lang District, Phuket.
