Prasat Meuang Tum is a Hindu religious place where was built around the 16th - 17th Buddhist century, according to Shivaism of Hinduism, it is located on the lower plain of Khao Phanom Rung and it is probably a community that related with Phanom Rung Castle since the two castles are close to each other. The architecture of Prasat Mueang Tum was built by royal skilled craftsmen, comparable to Prasat Phanom Rung. The name of Prasat Mueang Tum is understood that it may be called later in comparison with the high land or Phanom Rung since the word “Mueang Tam" means low or plain areas.
